On the 14th of March 1933 Sir Michael Caine was born in South East London, he got his first acting roll as a bit part in 1950 in a film called Morning Departure.
His first big film was Zulu, which was closely followed by Alfie. Though his best film (as far as im concerned anyway) was done in 1969, The Italian Job. This film is a classic, great acting with a fantastic story, all shot really well... and the ending! what an ending!I wont spoil it encase anyone hasn't seen it, though if you haven't seen it, I recommend you watch it. Infact, if you order if off Play today, you will probably get it by the weekend, so you can celebrate his birthday in style by watching, what I consider to be, his best Movie.
Of course, he was done many other great Movies since then, and even Produced a few, he acted and produced Get Carter. He also played a fantastic Mr Scrooge along side the Muppet's in The Muppet's Christmas Carol
As well as the ones I have mentioned, he has started in over 100 other Movies, and been nominated for an Oscar in every decade since 1960 (the only other actor to have done that is Jack Nicholson, and in the year 2000 he was honoured by the queen for his work and knighted Sir Michael Caine.
So on Sunday, raise a glass to the great actor that is, Sir Michael Caine.
